Well, I'm leaving for Lincoln tomorrow. I thought we were leaving today, but apparently not. We're going there for Ribfest, it's just like a big BBQ. My parents will go to that and I'll hang out with my cousins. So it should be a fun time.

We had the Cope Reunion a couple weeks ago. It was really fun. It was the 40th one held and the 6th held in Omaha. Unfortunately, Derek, who is REALLY cool and has a great taste in music, broke up with my 3rd cousin, Julie, and didnt attend. I guess she wanted to get married and he just wasnt ready for it. I really hope they get back together because otherwise I'll never see him again. But I'll still e-mail him at least. On, the plus side, we got to better know our like 2nd cousins. They're really cool. Their dad owns like some insurance company and is LOADED. So it was a fun time; got to go to the zoo and got to visit my favorite record store (Drastic Plastic) and visit one I hadnt been in called the Antiquarium. The guy there was really nice, covered the tax for me, so that was cool. I bought: Inferno by The Monroes, Slip it In by Black Flag, and a 7'' by a local band called the Box Elders. Got them all on vinyl. Im really into that, it's so much cooler than CDs.
Anyway, me and my friends (yeah, i know, 'my friends and I', but whatever) have been watching a lot of movies lately. Among these we have watched: My Bloody Valentine, Friday the 13th,  and today we watched Halloween. plus, a bunch of others. Halloween was great, we're watching the remake next week.
O, and Cross Country started this week. It's tough, 2 a days start next week, it's gonna suck.
So, that's all I got, Ive been chatting with one of the BBSers, she's really cool, I'll post more later.

I can't believe I forgot this....

I forgot to mention how stupid Sarah Palin is. I mean, i thought she was a complete idiot, but now she thinks she's gonna run for president? Haha, how pathetic.....

O, while we're on the subject of politics, Ive been getting in some political arguments on facebook. This one idiot tried to tell me that Socialism and a Democratic Society are the same thing. Wow, a good amount of the people that go to my school are idiots.

I cant think of a title...

I am horrible at posting on this. O well, it's not like anyone reads it.

I did this big bike ride about a month ago called the Bike Ride Across Nebraska (BRAN). 456 miles. Me, my dad and my dad's cousin, Justin from Seattle, all rode it. We started in Trenton and ended in Omaha The first day sucked, it was cold and it was sprinkling the entire way. It went from Trenton to Cambridge, which is where i live, so we got to sleep in our own beds. The next day was a lot better, although it was longer. They gave us these elevation maps and it said the 3rd day was this nice, gradually downhill ride. Like hell it was. It was one of the worst days. Just rolling hills over and over and over..........Justin lost his wallet in this one town. He had like 300 dollars plus his credit card and everything in there. Some 5 year old girl ended up finding it. Haha. The ride lasted a week in all. It was such a relief to FINALLY get to Omaha. I wanted to just stay in Omaha, but we had to be back for a wedding, so that wasn't going to happen.

Our baseball season just got over as well. I am very happy. I mean, I like baseball, but this one coach of ours just annoyed the shit out of me. He knows absolutely nothing about baseball. He's one of those guys that just thinks he has to coach EVERYTHING. Baseball should be fun next year as we have an awesome coach.

Im pretty excited, some kids from our youth group are going to the Niobrara River this weekend. It should be awesome. Then once I get back, my family is going to the Cope reunion. And it's in Omaha. I might go to the Omaha Entertainment Awards Summer Showcase while I'm there. It just has a bunch of local bands playing. It would be awesome. I'm also excited because I'll get to see my 3rd cousin's boyfriend if he comes. He has such an awesome taste in music. And he owns a record label. How cool is that?
But before that we have the city wide garage sale tomorrow. There will be a bunch of garage sales all over town. Hopefully i can score some vinyl. And I have to mow tomorrow since I'll be gone for the next week. I JUST MOWED TUESDAY. UGH. So I really don't want to do that.
And I've been working at the golf course the past couple days picking up sticks from the two storms we just had. Sounds boring, yeah, but it's with a lot of friends and it pays well. So it's pretty fun.

That's all I got.(I cant remember, did i use that phrase in a different post?) I'm gonna go watch Knowing. This time I WILL post more often for those of you that care.

Whatever you want to call it.

Wow, its been forever since I posted here. Im sorry to anyone who takes the time to read this. I'll start posting more frequently as I'm out of school now. I was meaning to make a big one about my trip to Disney World/cruise but I did that in my autobiography I made for school so if I feel like posting it I'll just copy and paste that in.

My class went on a field trip for the first time since 6th grade. We went to the Archway in Kearney. It was really cool. We were surprisingly good enough that my teacher took us to DQ to get ice cream afterwards

Baseball has started. We are 1-0. We're not all that great, we just played a  bad team. We play again tonight and our pitcher AND catcher are both gone. Should be interesting.

As a mentioned above, I'm out of school for the summer! YAY! We had to tests today, one in Algebra and one in English. The English one was pretty easy and I think the Algebra one went well too.  I couldn't remember how to do one problem so i left it blank. Im pissed cuz i remembered how on the way home. Lol. I was the last person to check out.I had to gather up a bunch of shit and what not before i could get signatures on my check out sheet. Next Year: Have stuff out of athletic locker and trumpet at home BEFORE the last day of school. I'm gonna miss Junior High. Had some good times.

I borrowed a bunch of plays from the High School English teacher(she teaches 10-12 grades). Ive been really getting into the theater lately, i tried out for the musical so we'll see how that goes. She also let me borrow a collection of One Act plays, so that should be interesting.

Haha, Cavs lost last night. Im cheering for the Nuggets. I think they can take a couple games from the Lakers. Game 2 tonight. If its Cavs v. LAL im cheering for LAL cuz i freaking hate the Cavaliers.

And I'm doing Cross Country in High School. It was that or football. I was good at football in Junior High at DE but I was already the smallest guy on our defensive line by about 50 pounds and i just feel i could be better at XC. Plus I think it'll keep me in better shape than football.

Thats all I got for now, I promise I'll try to post more.

What i did today/ Music '09

Its been a while since i posted here. Been meaning to do so. I know how many raving fans i have. So i went golfing today. First time this year. I did pretty well really for my first time of the year. Shot a 61. I went with my friend and i was owning him for quite a while and then i just start to suck. We ended up tying. I need to golf a lot this summer as HS golf is coming up next year.

Me and my friend had a dance contest on i think tuesday. We videotaped it. His phone can only video record for 15 seconds at a time so that kinda sucked. We didnt have time for us both to go, i had to catch the bus. (I ended up missing the bus, i was running right along beside it and it wouldnt stop, but finally a teacher stopped it.) I did my part of the dance contest. I was pretty awesome. Will put a video of it up if i can.

Me and my family went to a party tonight and we left AT ELEVEN O'CLOCK. It was ridiculous. I mean, im like "the party is just starting, youve got to be kidding me. I will never bring my parents to a party with me when i get older.

This year is gonna be a great year for music. We got a One Day as a Lion full length due out. A Chickenfoot debut. 2 Envy Corps releases, possible RHCP reunion (dont count on it), a possible LP5 and LP6 coming out for the Mars Volta, and last (but certainly not least) Richard Tabern and the Tom Tom's debut. They are pretty unknown as of now but they are awesome. They're from the UK. Their bassist used to be in this amazing band called Factotum. I miss Factotum. I think RTTT could get big if promoted correctly. They are great. I hope i can get a debut cuz their only putting out 500 copies. I talk to their bassist on the RHCP forum so hopefully he'll make sure i get one.

That's all i got right now. And no need to fight, there's enough of me to go around.

Basketball/ My future

Well, i finally figured out how to get my vinyl records onto my computer. That was a hassel. (how do you spell that?) i took the RCA cable coming from my record player, hooked it up to my stereo, took another RCA and hooked it up to my computer. I used a program called Golden. That worked nicely.

I havent had as good of a basketball season as I would have liked. Last year i was one of 2 7th graders to make A - Team and i did pretty good. I did great on B Team. Now we have a new coach. I really miss our old one. He went to coach the High School girls team because the coach last year got kicked out. (I wont get into that one) As strange as this may seem, i was actually the girls student manager last year. : ) The coach had been my teacher 2 years ago and we really got along well. He asked me and another boy to be student managers, however, the other was asked to be boys student manager. So i took the job. I really didnt get made fun of as much as i had thought. I just kept getting asked if i got to see anything in the locker room. (yeah, right.) I think the coach was a good guy, just made some mistakes, or did things that people misinterpreted. After that he was kinda treated pretty bad. I feel sorry for him. He's coaching in some other town now. But anyway, i guess i just havent been playing as well as I would have liked. i kinda just feel pressured by this coach, because if you screw up once with him, your sitting. And i liked the plays a lot better last year. But i shouldn't try to make excuses. We have a game tomorrow so hopefully i'll do better.

But one thing that always makes me feel better is the fact that i know i have music. I can play music, listen to music and just get lost. I know nothing that i do in sports is really going to matter as to how people see me and what i achieve 10 years from now. I hope to go into recording arts or something along those lines. but who knows. Im in 8th grade for God's sake, i have time. It's tough cuz i got my careers teacher trying to get me to want to pick all these jobs that i really dont want to do. Im still a kid. and im gonna keep that way for as  long as i can. i just want to have fun now. ya know? thats why i said i always have my music to lean on when im stressed (I'm actually listening to Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta now)

i got to go, everyones yellin at me to get to bed and give the computer to my mom so she can plan our vacation.

The Election

Wow. Barack Obama is our first African American president. Its amazing how far we've come. I was lucky enough to go see him in Omaha with my mom. This is the first time in a long time NE has mattered in the primaries. (I also got to see Bright Eyes perform a free concert before he spoke so that was pretty sweet.)  Theres not very many democrats in this area of a very red state so Barack gets a lot of crap thrown at him at school.  But he got elected so suck it! Power of the O baby!

Now on the state level. I was pretty upset that Johanns got elected as our state senator. Im mean hes a good guy,  but i find it hard to take him seriously as he doesn't believe in global warming. I'm glad Minnesota finally got their senate seat figured out. I was getting really tired of hearing about it. Franken rocks. he was so awesome on SNL. Thats all I got.

Intro

I'm new to blogging. this'll be my first ever post on a blog. I guess I'll just start by telling a little about myself. My name is Seth, I live in Cambridge, Nebraska, I love to read, and listen to music. I read a lot of classics and im really into the indie/alt music scene. (ill get into what books/music i like in depth later) Being only 14, i really dont have much of a job other than mowing 3 lawns during the summer. I really enjoy making fun of sarah palin. :) (i mean how could you not) Im in 8th grade, and i play football, golf, basketball, baseball and wrestling. i really cant think of much else to type right now so feel free to comment on any of my posts and ill get back to you later.
